And here we are, we're back like every year – those of us who are thinking, those who are talking and those who are waiting for this year's Mondiali Antirazzisti. Last year it was characterised by the active participation of a growing number of groups within the organisation, marking the step from the previous year in an extremely positive way. We remember that beautiful Saturday and the final awarding of prizes, cheerful and well attended in spite of the downpours on Thursday and Friday that could have disheartened everyone and chased them away. Last year the festivities had greater reflection on all topics linked to differences, with special attention to sexism and homophobia.
Unfortunately we must mention that the latest championship also marked the very difficult economic sustainability of this manifestation in a way that cannot be underestimated, and that can jeopardise this organisation in the future.

 On February 19th 2010, The Justin Campaign are launching an initiative,
Football v Homophobia, to raise awareness of homophobia in amateur and professional football; to unite clubs, players
and fans across the country by using the game of football to bring communities together in opposing hate and discrimination in the world’s favourite sport.
Jason Hall, Founding Director of The Justin Campaign said: "It’s important that all communities affected by prejudice and
discrimination join forces in opposing hatred. These conferences are important in ensuring the right people are involved in
such discussions; however it's the actions that come afterward that are important." |
